Non-Scale Related Goals

Losing weight is pretty important to some women. It is on my new year’s resolution list but I decided to make a few other goals that will help motivate me along the way. 

  1. Pull-ups - I’ve never been able to complete a single pull-up ever since I was young. If I can just get one by myself, that would make my year.
  2. Chest dip - Again, I have trouble holding up my own weight in this manner. But I feel this goal is rapidly progressing. 
  3. Under-bar rows - I can do the easy versions. Who wants to always do it the easy way?!
  4. Break parallel in my squats.

They seem like simple goals but they are definitely big (but achievable) leaps.

As the fitness journey continues

Today was chest day! I feel like out of all the days, this day gives me the most anxiety. We take turns on the bench press and squats but bench press is my weakest. It’s the one lifting exercise that I really have to focus on my breathing and pushing through the reps.

My Tunes for Running

I’ve been running fairly often for the past few months. Recently, there are just a few songs that really get me pumped up when I run. Sometimes towards the end, I have a hard time pushing through. Just the right song reminds me never to quit. 

What songs pump you up during your run?
