Gym Adventures - Bad Gym Day = Sushi

Today started out great. I woke up early to do my hip stretches for leg day. I mediated for 10mins to get mentally prepared. I had my new knee sleeves to try. My favorite Starbucks had pumpkin spice latte available. Yes! If you know me well, leg day is my favorite workout day.

With 5/3/1, we do 3 warm-up sets of 5 reps or less and then last 3 sets are the heavy weights. My warm-up weights started out at 85lbs. During my heavy weights, I’ve been trying to get deeper into my squat. I feel like I’ve been getting lower during each warm-up.

Rogue Routine

I don’t typically like going to the gym without my routine planned out. I’m not a spontaneous gymmer. I like knowing which exercises I’m doing, how much weight I need and the number of sets and reps I need to achieve. When I don’t have a routine set, I feel like I get a so-so workout. Sometimes a routine can feel blah which leads to switching a few exercises out for the next session. Surprisingly enough, I loved the overtraining routine because I felt more accomplished afterwards.

Old-Fashioned Pen and Paper

If you knew me personally, I love gadgets: phone, laptops, desktop, tablets, eReader, etc. They help me complete some tasks more efficiently or access information without heading out to the library. Despite my love/dependency on my devices, I still love the old-fashioned paper.
